    Hi Christopher. You're absolutely right: The "Mother Test" is a good one to follow.

    For some reason, people feel much safer expressing themselves freely over the Net than they ever would in person. Yet things we say or do in person don't have the ramifications of what we do on the Web. Just ask Anthony Weiner.

    Your post is very timely Linda. Most of us have made the mistake of sending something or posting information that we would have refrained from doing with the benefit of hindsight. Your last point, "When in doubt leave it out", is especially important. The guiding principle is to never put anything in cyberspace that you would not want your mother to read on the front page of her local newspaper.
